In 2001, James J. Sexton, Esq. founded the Law Offices of James J. Sexton, P.C. Since that time, Mr. Sexton's skills as an advocate and trial lawyer, and the results he has obtained for clients have grown his practice to its current status as a dominating force in the New York State divorce and family law bar.

Although the demand for Mr. Sexton's representation has, in recent years, experienced an unprecedented growth, he insists on providing each and every client of the firm with the level of responsiveness and personal attention that every client deserves and should demand. To that end, in the Summer of 2017, after several years of success as a large multi-attorney practice, Mr. Sexton continued his lifelong pattern of bold innovation and "rebooted" the firm:  downsizing his operation to enable him to provide more individualized focus to a more selective client base.

Mr. Sexton's perspectives on divorce have been featured in a diverse cross section of state and national media from The New York Times and New York Magazine to Glamour and The Huffington Post. His book If You're In My Office, It's Already Too Late - A Divorce Lawyer's Guide to Staying Together will be published by Henry Holt in the Spring of 2018.

Mr. Sexton meets with clients and potential new client consultations by appointment only in one of his two offices located in Rockland County and Manhattan.
